Job Description

The GBS Finance Unit & Tax reporting Manager – Italy will be part of the CFO BA. Main responsibilities will be to manage a team of 4 employees, provide financial and accounting services to other key stakeholders, and comply with the local requirements in Italy in terms of accounting and taxation for around 100 entities. We´re looking for a candidate with strong leadership skills, very well organized and highly proactive.

 

Key Activities and Responsibilities

 

  • Processing of the day-to-day transactions, including banking, treasury, payroll, accounts receivable and payable functions including ownership and management of the electronic invoicing portal.
  • Ensure robust tax compliance and reporting to include, as appropriate, VAT / PAYE / indirect taxes, withholding taxes, corporate taxes, and duties.
  • Oversee and coordinate on key compliance requirements in Field Italia
  • Preparation and review of project/contract data for revenue and cost recognition recording purposes.
  • Preparation and review of contract-related balances (deferred revenue, WIP and accruals).
  • Support both central and business unit staff, including project development and management teams in the commercial business as required.
  • Preparation of management accounts, including income statement, balance sheet, and variance analysis and production of detailed monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Adherence to the month end close process and ensuring deadlines are met in a timely manner.
  • Assist the FP&A Manager in providing insightful commentary into reported financial performance.
  • Assist with the annual audit process including the preparation of all relevant audit and tax information and liaising with the Group auditors.
  • Provide support with the due diligence process for the project SPV’s.
  • Assist with systems improvement and develop internal reporting to improve management information.
  • Working closely as a business partner with the business unit heads, including interpreting and communicating financial data to non-financial managers.
  • Interface closely with Business Development, Engineering, Legal and other departments to help guide projects move forward quickly and efficiently from an accounting perspective
  • Working with the divisional heads to identify the key risks and opportunities, issues, trends and potential
  • Liaising with third party tax, accounting and legal advisors where necessary
  • Alternatives within the business to improve profitability.
  • Other ad-hoc tasks as requested by the Business Controller (Development Projects).

Qualifications

  • 6 – 10 years’ experience in relevant field .
  • Fully Qualified Accountant or equivalent.
  • Operational experience of SAP 4HANA will be useful.
  • Open, clear communicator who enjoys working collaboratively and independently.
  • Great leader with a clear vision, high standards and knowledge about how to get people motivated, aligned, and delivering.
  • Very organised person with tried and tested methods for keeping on top of a varied workload.
  • Enthusiastic, curious, and knowledgeable about the renewable energy industry.
  • Creative problem solver.
  • Good communicator with internal and external relationships.
  • Positive attitude with strong emphasis on high quality deliverables.
  • Advanced Excel knowledge, with strong data manipulation and analytical skills.
  • Fluency in English, Italian is essential.
  • Knowledge of all relevant local GAAP and IFRS.
