Job Description

  • The US Medical Advisor will perform a key role in the clinical and commercial development of SIR-Spheres any other products currently or later marketed globally, including SIR-Spheres, Embocept, and Lava.
  • This role is a highly visible one throughout the organization that strongly requires proactive communication, building and maintaining KOL relationships, and internal/external stakeholder management.
  • The role is focused on the development and execution of strategic objectives for Global Medical Affairs, collaboration with KOLs, other HCPs, and other external stakeholders, while ensuring cross-functional strategic alignment.
  • The US Medical Advisor will be responsible for the timely and high-quality planning of important strategic efforts and collaborating on their execution, including, but not limited to:
    • Outreach to key investigators and opinion leaders to formulate strategic evidence generation plan and plan on filling research gaps,
    • Planning and executing advisory boards to obtain external perspectives on research initiatives and overall Medical strategy,
    • Work with Senior Leadership and other cross-functional partners to align Medical strategy with overall Corporate strategy.

Primary responsibilities:

  • Evidence generation strategic planning and execution
    • Draft input on trial design, review methodology.
    • Review study requirements and endpoint definitions and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to develop associated study documents.
    • Provide leadership of development of strategic plan and its presentation to Senior Leadership as well as flawless execution of plan, including seeking KOL advice and collaborating to initiate studies.
  • Establish new and cultivate existing HCP relationships
    • Develop KOL engagement plan and support relationship management by liaising with MSLs and other cross-functional partners to understand opportunities for research or other collaboration.
    • Support oversight of ongoing ISRs in collaboration with MACA Operations and the MSL team.
  • Team leadership
    • Demonstrate strong proactivity with all communications and deliverables and identifying next steps.
    • Leading by example with professional and collaborative conduct.
    • Supporting a work environment conducive to team member growth and development.
  • Drive development of field insights:
    • Collaborate closely with MSLs to generate key insight questions, identify broader inferences and implications for the company, and collate information for presentation to Medical team and Leadership to better understand HCP insights and corresponding actions (e.g. revising Evidence Generation Plan).
    • Collaborate with Scientific Communications, Publications, and Medical Information to reflect insights from HCP/KOL discussions in those deliverables as appropriate.
  • Collaborate on internal and external training:
    • Support efforts around internal training (e.g. Journal Club, support Commercial training) and external training (e.g. Fellowship outreach plan, collate insights from MSLs on how Sirtex can support HCP training content).

Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in the Life Sciences (PhD, MD, PharmD).
