We are seeking a Public Information Specialist/Grants Manager to join our Planning/Engineering Team. This position is based out of anywhere in the US, primarily working remotely. The ideal candidate will be able to showcase their project/program delivery skills across multiple Federal Grant Programs to include FEMA Public Assistance, Hazard Mitigation across all HMA programs (FMA, HMGP, BRIC) and CDBG. The position also includes managing public outreach teams on conventional and unconventional projects. Coordinates, plans, organizes, and directs public outreach efforts and programs for a client and may supervise, and function as a mentor to, less experienced professionals to assist in their professional training and development and performs quality assurance of their work deliverables. The position may oversee the development of public assistance and hazard mitigation proposals to maximize mitigation participation and funding.

How will you contribute to the team?
Assist with project management activities, including but not limited to, project and personnel oversight.
Must be able to assist the client with developing and/or managing grant programs for plans and non-construction activities, construction activities, identify hazards and impacts, facilitate local plan development and process when necessary, facilitate meetings and briefings, identify public, private and non-profit partnerships.
Develop, review, evaluate and comment on mitigation plans for compliance with FEMA requirements and assist communities with getting plans adopted. Assist the communities with post disaster planning.
Conduct briefings and support the client’s Mitigation/Recovery Team through activities as assigned.
Provide guidance on the FEMA Sections 404 and 406 Hazard Mitigation Programs.
What will you contribute?
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Planning, Finance, Disaster Management, Economics or related field. This level may be achieved by Planners with five years experience since Bachelor's or four years since Master's. Typical incumbent has 7-10 years experience.
Knowledge and skill in applying analytical and evaluative techniques to the identification, consideration, and resolution of a wide variety of grants administration issues and problems.
