In this role, you’ll support the evening operations of the Meat Department—guiding team members, supporting training, managing inventory and safety practices, and stepping in to assist guests and teammates alike. Whether coaching a new associate or troubleshooting a challenge on the sales floor, your presence ensures quality and service don’t skip a beat.

 

What You'll Do:

As a Meat Evening Supervisor at Festival Foods, you will:

  • Lead the evening shift in the Meat Department in the absence of the Meat Department Manager, reinforcing expectations for guest service, safety, cleanliness, and performance.
  • Train and support associates by answering questions, demonstrating great customer service, and ensuring consistent execution of tasks.

  • Monitor product levels, pricing, and case conditions—taking action on rotation, labeling, and inventory needs.

  • Assist with scheduling, performance feedback, and timekeeping, and assists Department Manager with documenting associate concerns during the evening shift.

  • Ensure department cleanliness and organization, including equipment, prep areas, back stock, and the sales floor.

  • Address guest questions or concerns with professionalism and urgency, using the boomerang principle to turn challenges into positive outcomes.

  • Communicate shift highlights and needs to the Department Manager to ensure smooth handoffs and ongoing improvement.

  • Teamwork: Perform other duties as needed to support the team.
  • Honor Commitments: Regular, timely attendance in compliance with the work schedule, and adequate notice to find a replacement for occasional absences.

What We're Looking For: 

 

To excel in the Meat Evening Supervisor role at Festival Foods, you should have:

  • High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Leadership skills with the ability to coach, motivate, and develop others.

  • Strong communication and problem-solving abilities, especially under pressure.

  • A solid understanding of food safety, merchandising, and department operations.

  • Familiarity with retail food, food service, or fast food business tools and procedures (slicers, lifting techniques, timekeeping systems).

  • A current Wisconsin Certified Food Manager License or willingness to obtain one (Festival will cover the cost).
