This role will have the capability to synthesize several smaller requirements from developers into strategic projects that align towards the larger vision. Working side-by-side with engineers, our team helps Microsoft Business and Industry Copilot engineers overcome technical challenges, build trust, and grow confidence by coding directly with them. We run cross-cutting engagements that help engineers become more agile and deploy high-quality code into production quicker. Not only does this approach work, but it's fun and we learn every day.

In this role, you will partner with teams of Microsoft developers, or crews, to define and execute engagements projects. Your primary responsibility is understanding how we can best help our customers to ensure the correct solution is found. As the Scrum Product Owner, you represent the project vision by crafting and prioritizing user stories in the project backlog.

Responsibilities

This role will require you to work with backend engineering teams across infrastructure, security and product services engineering. You will be responsible for:

• Driving engineering initiatives across engineering teams, status reporting and surfacing risks
• Collaborating with different teams to surface health and hygiene of engineering systems through monthly services reviews
• Bringing clarity to the execution roadmap, risks and status of various engineering initiatives through engineering newsletters and other forums
• Automating program management through Azure DevOps and Power BI
• Being plugged into various security and services infrastructure initiatives
• Partnering with solution engineers to validate that designs meet or exceed business needs
• Build project timelines, estimates of level of effort, manage milestones, and course correct projects to maintain schedules
• Identify and mitigate project execution risks
• Define acceptance criteria and partner with engineering to ensure that services align with requirements
• Partner with business teams to ensure that appropriate change management plans exist for the release of larger features
• Orchestrate planning, communications, testing, and stakeholder management across multiple teams
• Verify that solutions implemented capture the benefits identified during planning
• Provide guidance to tier 1 tool support personnel, and assist in the management of internal vendor support teams
• Serve as an escalation point during outages or investigations
• Drive constant improvement in the administration and documentation of tools
• Help inform priorities of features based on knowledge of business and key stakeholders
• Work with leadership to understand broader strategies for technology and ensure that solutions implemented follow best practices and contribute to long term vision for the organization
• Assist in the implementation of new technology as it becomes available
• Identify opportunities for improvement in existing process and drive ideas to completion
• Manage the permission structure for internal tools
• Manage deployment of technology upgrades to existing systems
