JOB SUMMARY: The Quality Engineer Lead is responsible for planning, coordinating and completing broadly defined quality engineering tasks, assignments or small projects to ensure compliance with customer technical expectations.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Provide technical support to Quality, Engineering and Manufacturing regarding product and quality, inspection, audit, sampling plans, process controls, statistical applications and contract review
- Drive down CoPQ and Customer Return costs by
- Gathering CoPQ/yield and Return data
- Analyzing the data looking for trends and main drivers, presenting information weekly to Engineering and Site leadership
- Identifying root cause and implementing corrective actions
- Meeting with team members to review progress on existing COPQ and Return reduction projects
- Defining and executing new improvement projects as needed
- Complete First Article Inspections in accordance with customer requirements
- Distribute and action customer report cards
- Provide quality system development and systems auditing for the site
- Prepare and perform/host Customer, Regulatory Agency and ISO/AS9100 Audits
- Participate in Supplier evaluation, selection and certification
- Provide technical support to purchasing regarding supplier capability, quality status, inspection test methods and non-conformance
- Assist in preparation of Supplier evaluation system
- Participate in on-site facilities and systems evaluations and in supplier selection and certification decisions
- Maintain documentation of the quality systems
- Conduct quality audits to ensure internal compliance
- Analyze quality trends and participate in process improvement activities
- Build solid relationships with Quality personnel from customers to assure key characteristics and contractual requirements are met
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education: Bachelor's Degree
- Experience Years: 3-5 years
- Experience Type: Engineering, Mathematics or Statistics
- OR Equivalent combination of education and experience
- Microsoft Office and web proficiency
- Experience in electronics processing manufacturing
- Working knowledge of electronic component manufacturing process
- Knowledge and understanding of IPC-610, ISO 9001 and AS 9100
- Knowledge of quality systems and techniques, process control including SPC and team facilitation methods
- Understanding of LAN and information systems
- Familiarity with commercial considerations, protocols and regulations governing relations between buyer and seller
