About the role

Cloud Operations + Innovation (CO+I) is the team behind one of the worlds largest Cloud Infrastructures, responsible for developing, building and maintaining the entire Microsoft Cloud. Our focus is on smart growth, high efficiency, and delivering a trusted experience to customers and partners worldwide, and we are looking for a passionate Senior Business Program Manager to help achieve that mission. 

 

Within CO+I, the Core Datacenter Services (CDS) team drives global availability by implementing global standard processes and delivering programs that maximize efficiency while optimizing safety, security, and availability across our global datacenter portfolio. We are looking for a creative, organized, and action-oriented Senior Business Program Manager to drive governance and framework across this newly formed team. The candidate seleted will be someone who excels at influencing without authority, dealing with ambiguity, and operating at exemplary levels. They demonstrate attention to detail and a passion for cultivating and maintaining impactful relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Develop process framework for datacenter operations central function and related regions. 
  • Coordinate with all segments and functional organizations across CO+I at both the executive and project team levels to ensure clarity on milestone requirements, workflow, and process. 
  • Drive analysis on current inefficiencies and develop out-of-the box solutions that contribute to overall business goals and strategies, enabling us to scale to meet projected demand growth for our cloud business. 
  • Standardize and operationalize best practices across our global portfolio, while accounting for regional variances in execution. 
  • Ensure continuity of performance metrics (OKRs) as well as Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), including input and output metrics. 
  • Drive alignment in global process for operational reporting and document retention.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Operations, Finance or related field AND 4+ years work experience in program management, process management, process improvement, operations, finance, or related field
    • OR equivalent experience.

Other Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: 

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
  • Citizenship & Citizenship Verification: This position requires verification of citizenship due to citizenship-based legal restrictions. Specifically, this position supports United States federal, state, and/or local [or applicable country] government agency customers and is subject to certain citizenship-based restrictions where required or permitted by applicable law. To meet this legal requirement, and as a condition of employment, the successful candidate’s citizenship will be verified with a valid passport.

Preferred/Additional Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Operations, Finance or related field AND 5+ years work experience in program management, process management, process improvement.
  • Experience in the Datacenter or Critical Environment space.
  • Experience in the Cloud Infrastructure or technologies space.

 

Business Program Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $94,600 - $183,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $122,000 - $200,500 per year.
