Scope of Travel: Vancouver, Longview, Tumwater, Olympia, Tacoma, Silverdale, and Puyallup
Position Type: Full Time
Schedule: 4 10-hour days (40 hours per week)
Expected Hiring Range: $195,000 - $225,000 annually (based on experience and performance)
Other Compensation: Hired applicant will be eligible for retention/sign-on bonuses and relocation advance if applicant satisfies the distance from clinic location requirements.   

Position Summary
The Traveling General Dentist supports Willamette Dental’s evidence-based treatment philosophy, mission, vision and core values by performing the full scope of general dentistry permitted by state.

Essential Position Functions

  • Must be willing and able to travel to the locations listed in the scope of travel.
  • Embody Willamette Dental Group’s treatment philosophy, mission and values and ensure they are portrayed throughout the practice.
  • Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, at the highest available scope of licensure per the applicable state’s Dental Practice Act, including expanded function Dental Assistants where applicable and Hygienists with all state specified permits and endorsements (nitrous oxide, local anesthetic and restorative).
  • Assist with coordinating multiple schedules during the course of the work day ensuring patients have appropriate access to care, that the patient’s experience is exceptional, and that tomorrow’s work is done today.
  • Ensure quality care and adherence to the company treatment philosophy: data from the dashboard, specialty referrals, EV Report – reviewing it, counseling as needed.
  • Adheres to the criteria of the office strategic goals, the economic value report of their offices and themselves: patient count, routine work, Customer Experience, access and quality care.
  • Embrace Customer Experience and patient transparency with the patient experience being foremost.
  • Obtain and maintain Nitrous Oxide credentials and/or other forms of minimal conscious sedation.
  • Strict adherence to OSHA and blood borne pathogens policies.
  • Follow the FDA and ALARA principle guidelines when taking intra-oral and panoramic radiographs
  • Diagnose and treat dental issues related to disease, malformations and injuries and develop individualized treatment plans for such.
  • At all new patient and continuing care appointments present and educate the proactive dental care plan. Address and resolve patient concerns and second opinions.
  • Obtain and maintain Nitrous Oxide credentials and/or other forms of minimal conscious sedation.
  • Strict adherence to OSHA and blood borne pathogens policies.
  • Follow the FDA and ALARA principle guidelines when taking intra-oral and panoramic radiographs.
  • Strict adherence to Willamette Dental Group’s Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) policy. This includes, but is not limited to the use of N95 respirators and other PPE as required by regulatory bodies and company policy.

Education and Experience
Degree as a Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD), Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS), and/or Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS). Successful completion of a traditional pre doctoral dentistry program and valid licensure in the specific state(s) where practicing.

Licenses, Certifications and Registrations

  • Degree as a Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) or Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS).

Knowledge of:

  • Evidence based dental practices.
  • AxiUm electronic records
  • Fulfill all requirements to ensure proper electronic documentation for all care provided to patients.
  • CAMBRA and PEMBRA, with an emphasis on prevention.
  • Risk phases, and risk assessment.
  • Diagnostic terms.
  • Information and techniques needed to diagnose and treat and oral cavity anomalies.
  • Principles and processes for providing customer and optimal patient experience. This includes patient needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of patient satisfaction.
Expected hiring range for this position depending on experience (annual salary):
$195,000$225,000 USD

Compensation

The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to education, job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity.  

This position is also eligible for incentive pay in accordance with the terms of the Company’s plan.
