INDUS provides industrial support services across the Undersea Weapons Department (Code 30), Test and Evaluation Department (Code 20), Undersea Systems & Sustainment Department (Code 40) and Unmanned and Theater Undersea Warfare Systems Department (Code 50), of the Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC) Division, Keyport (NUWCDIVKPT). Requirements include providing technical support services associated with various industrial operations, depot repair activities, and torpedo intermediate maintenance functions.

 

Reporting to the Program Manager, the Machinery Maintenance Mechanic on the NUWCDIVKPT Industrial Support Services (ISS) contract. This position is located in Keyport, WA.

What You'll Do

Performs preventative and corrective maintenance on a wide array of industrial fabrication equipment to include Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machines, manual machines, hydraulic presses, environmental ovens, blasting equipment, electronic fabrication equipment, paint/coatings equipment, robotics, 3D printers, and the auxiliary air and water systems that support them. Manages maintenance scheduling database and ability to communicate and coordinate repairs in a team environment

 

Job Duties:

  • Manufacture, repair, and modify hardware components utilizing CNC and manual machine tools such as lathes, mills, and machining centers. A variety of part sizes and material types are machined at Keyport with precision tolerances.
  • The contractor shall be responsible for the machine setup and production of acceptable parts at the required quantities.
  • Using Government shop orders, drawings, procedures, and specifications, perform machining operations.
  • Follow the Shop Workload Management System (SWMS) maintenance database, manufacturing schedule, blueprints, technical manuals, and engineering specifications to maintain and make minor repairs on the industrial machinery and equipment identified in SWMS maintenance database.
  • Perform lock-out tag-out procedures in accordance with all required directives and regulations. Repairs shall only be made after Government approval. Use the internet to research for the ordering of replacement parts.
  • Purchase parts that are directed via TIL.
  • Keep up-to-date records via SWMS maintenance database of preventative and corrective maintenance and repairs, adjustments, and calibrations performed to identify potential problems and service equipment before factory production is interrupted.  Using Government supplied equipment, tools, chemicals and lubricants:
  • Perform the machinery maintenance in accordance with the SWMS maintenance database.
  • Provide recommendations to the Government for repairs. With Government approval, the Contractor shall make minor repairs.
  • Maintain and update the SWMS maintenance database. This database schedules all preventative maintenance and documents all corrective actions.
  • Bid and proposal support if requested.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications:

  • The ability to obtain and maintain an active secret clearance is required to be considered for this role.
  • At least three (3) years of experience maintaining industrial equipment.
  • Apprenticeship or demonstrated formal training.
  • Licensed and certified to operate 6,000-pound electric and diesel forklift.
  • Prior experience machining parts by programming, setting up, and operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machine.
  • Experience with general welding.
  • Good communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work well in a design team and handle multiple designs.
  • Ability to display integrity and ethics in handling confidential information.
  • Able to manage complex schedules.
  • Must possess basic computer literacy and data entry skills.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (to include MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
