Saute Associate

A "Sauté Associate" at La Madeleine is a kitchen position primarily responsible for cooking various dishes on the sauté station, ensuring all food is prepared according to established recipes and quality standards, while maintaining a clean and organized workstation, adhering to food safety guidelines, and efficiently communicating with other line cooks and management to maintain smooth service flow. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Cooking:

• Accurately prepare dishes on the sauté station following La Madeleine recipes, including proper cooking times and techniques for items like grilled meats, vegetables, and pasta dishes. 

• Maintain consistency in quality and presentation of all cooked items. 

• Monitor and adjust cooking temperatures as needed to ensure proper doneness. 

• Prep Work:

• Prepare ingredients according to prep lists, including chopping vegetables, portioning proteins, and measuring sauces. 

• Stock the sauté station with necessary ingredients and utensils. 

• Food Safety:

• Follow proper food handling procedures, including rotating stock, maintaining proper storage temperatures, and preventing cross-contamination. 

• Ensure cleanliness of work area and equipment throughout the shift. 

• Communication and Teamwork:

• Communicate effectively with other line cooks to maintain a smooth service flow. 

• Alert management of any issues related to food quality, shortages, or equipment malfunctions. 

• Cleaning and Maintenance:

• Clean and sanitize all cooking surfaces, utensils, and equipment after each shift. 

• Properly store equipment and ingredients at the end of the shift. 

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Basic culinary skills with experience in sauté cooking techniques.
• Understanding of food safety and sanitation practices
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
