IAF is one of 15 US manufacturers who can train and offer opportunities in multiple production processes: Cold-Forming (Set-Up Machine Operator), Thread Rolling (Set-Up Machine Operator), Electro plating, Geomet, Annealing (Manual Machine Operator) – Heat Treatment Process (Manual Machine Operator), and Material Movement (Material Handler).
A Day in the Life of an IAF Team Member?
As a Machine Operator, you will operate up to 3 machines to our safety, quality, and production standards. In this position, you will verify parts are correct for the process and load fasteners into the machine, understand how the process works, and keep up with the production cycle times of the machine(s). Once the cycle is complete, then the parts are unloaded and inspected according to IAF quality standards. There are chemicals used in the machine processing such as caustic, acids, zinc, paint-like coatings, and oil. As a machine operator in these areas there are different chemical smells.
You would Thrive in this position if: You have a willingness to learn new skills. Or if you already have experience as a machine operator in the manufacturing industry. Experienced with maintaining cycle times. Utilizing gauges to perform quality checks, as well as visual inspection. If you are mechanically inclined with experience in troubleshooting malfunctioning machines, or a desire to learn those skills.

- Training on 1st 6:30am-3:00pm 4 to 6 weeks in our Global Training Center, where we teach you basic knowledge of the machine, and how to change the machine over, then move to 2nd 2:30 P.M. to 11:00 P.M. (Monday-Friday) 3rd 10:30pm to 7am. (Sunday-Thursday) 6 to 12 weeks on the floor with a floor trainer on the shift assigned to.

Requirements/Qualifications
- Six months of related experience and or training, one-year certificate from a college or technical school, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Machine aptitude (preferred)
- Trouble shooting experience (preferred)
- Good communication
- Organization and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work as a team
- Ability to lift container up to 25lbs (repetitively) to 100lbs (occasionally)
- Ability to stand for extended periods, use of hands, walk, bend, and or twist
- Ability to work 12+ hours (including Saturdays and Sundays

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
