One of them, the marvellous Community squad, is looking for a proactive (Senior) Backend Engineer to join them.</p><p>As a (Senior) Backend Engineer, you will be responsible and contribute to shaping engaging social features like adidas Runners, Groups, Social Connections, Social Profile, Live Tracking and the Feed as a platform for Social Interactions - connecting millions of athletes.</p><h3>You’ll contribute by:</h3><ul><li>Architecting, building and operating code that reaches millions of athletes</li><li>Collaborating with other Mobile &amp; Backend Engineers to solve challenging problems</li><li>Creating a culture of community, inclusion and ownership</li><li>Fostering engineering excellence through collaboration and high-quality standards</li><li>Joining product engineering initiatives from discovery to delivery</li><li>Being a team player, sharing knowledge and learning from others</li></ul><p> </p><h3>What makes you the right match:</h3><ul><li>2+ years of experience as Backend Engineer, delivering clean, testable and high-quality code and bridging the gap between REST APIs and databases, ideally in a Microservice Architecture</li><li>Curious and open-minded attitude, always learning and empowering your peers</li><li>Passion for designing and developing services for large audiences with scalability and performance in mind</li><li>Thorough understanding of software design, architecture principles and the pragmatism to know when to use what approach</li><li>Excellent problem-solving skills, valuing simple solutions and readability over elegance</li><li>Good English skills</li><li>Ideally, experience working in an agile environment and taking accountability over the deliverables of your team</li></ul><h3>Salary Information</h3><p>And here’s the fine print: Our salary range starts at EUR 52,690 gross annually (based on a 38.5 hours working week).
