Job Description
Advisement Center Office Manager and Administrative Assistant
The Advisement Center Office Manager and Administrative Assistant helps to hape students’ academic and professional journeys by facilitating internship course enrollment, supporting office operations, and contributing to help build Christlike leaders. This position is key to ensuring smooth operations across a variety of office functions – from course coordination and HR functions to financial tracking and office events.

What you’ll do in this position:
- Facilitate MSB 199R and MSB 496R courses by guiding students through the application and registration process to earn academic credit for internships.
- Hire and supervise course teaching assistants as well as manage grading and course records for MSB 199R and MSB 496R courses.
- Serve as the department’s Finance Operations Specialist while assisting with financial processes including travel reimbursements and purchasing as well as tracking and forecasting budget needs.
- Serve as department’s HR Operations Specialist, assist with onboarding, and training student peer advisors while maintaining confidentiality and HR compliance.
- Coordinate access requests, time-off scheduling, and offboarding tasks.
- Schedule student employee shifts, resolve scheduling issues, help plan office events, orientations and tours.
- Support a positive, welcoming environment for student employees and visitors.
- Assist manager and full-time staff with administrative projects that support the mission and goals of BYU Marriott and the Undergraduate Advisement Center.
- Organize, prepare materials, order food, and reserve rooms for staff bonding events and assist with external student-facing events.
What qualifies you for this role:
Required
- A firm commitment to the mission of BYU
- Bachelor’s degree and 1 year of work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Strong organizational skills
- Attention to detail
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Skilled with Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Excellent customer service skills
Preferred
- Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years of experience in business, academic, or administrative position
