About the role

Your experience includes… 

•    BS with 2+/MS with 1+ years of relevant experience in chemistry, biology, or related life sciences 
•    Excellent knowledge and thorough understanding of downstream processing of oligos
•    Experience in preparing buffers for purification and maintaining lab instruments such as AKTA purifiers, UF, HPLC and LC-MS
•    Experience using Agilent and Waters analytical instruments for purity analysis
•    Detail and results oriented with experience using ELNs to document experiments and results

You are interested in…

•    Learning and implementing purification strategies for complex oligonucleotides
•    Conducting research into alternate purification strategies
•    Preparing transfer of methods to larger-scale cGMP manufacturing environment
•    Performing routine operations for critical technology components
•    Participating in cross-functional teams and training to gain familiarity in all stages of oligonucleotide research and manufacturing

You are a skilled individual who can operate in a fast-paced environment, troubleshoot instruments, and document operations independently and as part of a team.  You will have the opportunity to organize and present results within the group and interface with other teams, so strong communication skills are critical.  You enjoy overcoming challenges in collaboration with colleagues.

Jeffrey Berry – Senior Scientist, Oligo Foundry

Jeffrey obtained his Ph.D. in Inorganic Radiochemistry from Washington State University.  His postdoctoral work was at the Army Public Health Center in Maryland, followed by work at DuPont and Nitto Denko Avecia.  He has been at Tessera since 2023, where he has been in downstream purification and process development for the Oligo Foundry working on optimizing purifications as well as developing analytical assays for the group.

Narissa Furtado-Cordeiro - Manager, Talent Acquisition 

Narissa joined the Biotechnology industry shortly after graduating with her BS in Marketing from Franklin Pierce University. She is currently pursuing a MS in Legal Studies from Northeastern University School of Law while working full time as a Manager in Talent Acquisition at Tessera. She is passionate about helping individuals find a fulfilling opportunity while considering their interests, aspirations and technical skills. Narissa lives in Northern Vermont and enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband, three-year-old daughter and German Shepherd.
