The listed minimum pay reflects compensation forfull-time equivalent (1.0 FTE) position. Actual compensation may differ depending on assigned hours and position status (e.g., part-time).

A Neurologist is responsible for examining and treating patients who experience disorders, illnesses and injuries that affect the nerves, spinal cord and brain. Their duties include conducting physical examinations, collecting spinal fluid or other samples and running neurological tests to identify problems.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education:

Experience:

MD/DO Degree, NJ & PA licenses. Board certified/eligible in Neurology

3+ years of specialty training from an accredited neurology residency program

Other Credentials:

Certified as a diplomat of in the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology

Knowledge and Skills:

Strong communication skills, highly organized, and highly productive

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Diagnosing complex medical problems by referring to a patient’s history, examining them and conducting neurological tests
  • Consult with patients on aftercare and long-term health management strategies
  • Monitor patients’ progress and adjust treatments or medication as needed
  • Prescribe treatments or medication best suited to improve the patient’s condition
  • Order tests and interpret results in order to determine the best treatment options
  • Keep accurate patient medical records; completing all necessary documentation to allow for timely and efficient billing and claim submittal
  • Attend training and seminars to stay up to date on the latest trends and developments in neurology
  • Participates in on-call schedule in a responsive and timely manner
