Job Details:

SUMMARY: This position is responsible for aiding the Plant Sales Manager (Sr. Sales Specialist) in merchandising beef carcasses and maintaining control over the selection of cattle and optimization of grading. Other duties include sharing responsibility fully with the manager in proper management of the department; training of all subordinates; striving for the highest quality and yield grading of beef carcasses; working closely with U.S.D.A. graders during routine daily grading and regrading of beef carcasses; correlating beef grading characteristics with other carcass salespersons; possessing a thorough understanding of tagging and discounting procedures for the Processing Division and outside customers; and assisting in the areas of sales, credit, billing, training, invoicing and claims resolution.

REQUIREMENTS:

Education: Bachelor's degree preferred. 

Experience: 3+ year's carcass merchandising experience or one year senior level meat judging plus one year senior level judging team coaching experience preferred.

Computer Skills: Basic computer knowledge.

Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Supervisory Skills: Will be required to supervise management, management support and hourly personnel.

Special Skills: Meats judging experience a plus. Know and understand U.S.D.A. grading standards.

Physical Requirements: Job is performed in the sales cooler and requires ability to with stand cold temperatures and standing for extended periods.
