About the role:

With continued growth we are looking for a Manager or Senior Manager to join our Business Advisory team in Toowoomba.

Business Advisory is a specialist division within RSM Australia, providing business and tax advisory services to private enterprises and iconic high wealth family groups.

As a Manager or Senior Manager you will work with our talented leadership team and have responsibility for a portfolio of clients as you:

• Provide tax and accounting advice and solutions to clients that include family groups, trusts and partnerships, mid-market companies and multinational groups.

• Continue to develop your technical expertise working across a wide range of disciplines, including tax and accounting compliance as well as business and tax advisory.

• Develop your skills across a broad range of issues or specialise in a chosen field, including the opportunity to select a sector specialisation.

• Access nationally developed resources and learn from service line specialists, as you utilise best in class technology to deliver innovative solutions to clients.

• Play a key role across the full scope of client engagements, including having regular client contact and attending client meetings.

• Grow as a coach and mentor and develop your managerial skills, overseeing team members. 

• Work with a dedicated development Director or Partner on your career growth and personal goals.

Our Toowoomba office is situated opposite the iconic Toowoomba Gardens, and close to the local shopping centre. As poet Bruce Dawe who lived in Toowoomba for most of the 1970s said in a poem about this tree-lined city, ‘you can smell the peace up here’. Most of our team live within close proximity to the office, allowing time for friends and family, hobbies and sports. 

About you:

We are looking for someone with:

• Experience in tax, accounting and business advisory services in a similar environment, ideally (though not essential) in a top-tier or mid-tier accounting firm.

• Experience in managing a portfolio of clients and managing junior staff in their development

• Advanced tax technical knowledge relevant to individuals, trusts, partnerships and private companies.

• Strong accounting skills and experience in preparing special purpose financial statements

• Ability to build strong and lasting business relationships

• A client centric approach and ability to understand your clients’ business

• Strong commercial awareness

• Excellent written and communication skills

Education requirements

• Business / Commerce degree with Accounting Major

• Completed CA or equivalent
