Pediatric Psychology Postdoctoral Clinical Fellow
St. Jude Children's Research HospitalAbout the role
Postdoctoral fellows are trained within a clinician scientist model and are provided with supervision in both the provision of clinical care and research. Additionally, a consultation-liaison approach allows the fellow to collaborate with a variety of medical treatment teams. One- and two-year postdoctoral fellowships incorporating both clinical and scholarly activities are offered. Length of training will depend on the trainee’s interests and individual goals.
We will be able to accommodate three pediatric psychology fellows beginning in the Summer of 2026. All fellowship positions offer clinical and scholarly training opportunities broadly focused on quality of life and health promotion in pediatric catastrophic illness (cancer, hematologic disorders, infectious disease, neurologic conditions). Patient care activities include clinical consults, health and behavior assessments, brief and long-term intervention, and risk assessment/crisis management. All clinical activities are provided in both the inpatient and outpatient settings. Additional training opportunities include specialty rotations in pain management, tiered supervision, and early childhood. Fellows are also able to gain experience in other activities typical of clinical faculty in a medical setting (e.g., multidisciplinary team liaison, quality improvement projects, research, committee work, etc.).
St. Jude offers highly competitive stipends (currently 22% above NIH levels), health benefits (i.e., medical, prescription, dental, vision), and a professional development allowance.
Eligibility
Successful applicants must have a Ph.D. or Psy.D. in clinical, counseling, or school psychology from a regionally accredited institution of higher education (APA- or CPA-accredited preferred) and have completed a doctoral internship meeting APPIC standards (APA- or CPA-accredited preferred).
