Position Summary:
Our Security Operations Center (SOC) is at the forefront of threat detection, incident response, and cybersecurity defense. We are seeking a motivated Intern to join our team and gain hands-on experience in cybersecurity operations. As a SOC Analyst Intern, you will work alongside experienced security professionals to monitor, analyze, and respond to security events in real time. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about cybersecurity to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced SOC environment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Monitor security alerts and events from SIEM (Security Information and Event Management) tools.
- Assist in identifying, analyzing, and responding to security incidents.
- Perform initial triage and escalation of security alerts based on defined procedures.
- Support investigations of potential threats, vulnerabilities, and anomalies.
- Assist in maintaining incident logs and reports for security analysis.
- Learn and apply cybersecurity frameworks, methodologies, and best practices.
- Stay up to date with emerging cybersecurity trends, attack techniques, and defense strategies.
- Support SOC team members in day-to-day cybersecurity operations and documentation.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Pursuing or interested in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
- Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate technical findings effectively.
- Willingness to Learn: Enthusiastic about cybersecurity and eager to develop new skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certifications (Preferred but Not Required): CompTIA Security+, CEH, or any relevant cybersecurity certifications. (or working towards)
- Basic understanding of networking, security principles, and common cyber threats, but not required
- Familiarity with SIEM tools, firewalls, IDS/IPS, and endpoint security is a plus. (Preferred but Not Required)
