Job Summary:

At PayPal, Senior Full Stack Software Engineers are the driving force behind the innovative systems that power millions of secure transactions across the globe every day. You’ll design, develop, and optimize full stack solutions that deliver seamless, scalable, and high-performance digital experiences. In this role, you’ll work across frontend and backend technologies to build reliable, user-focused systems while collaborating with cross-functional teams to transform complex business needs into elegant technical solutions. As a technical leader, you’ll mentor junior engineers, champion best practices, and guide the implementation of robust architectures that strengthen PayPal’s global payment platform and elevate the customer experience.

Job Description:

Essential Responsibilities:

• Delivers complete solutions spanning all phases of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) (design, implementation, testing, delivery and operations), based on definitions from more senior roles.

• Advises immediate management on project-level issues

• Guides junior engineers

• Operates with little day-to-day supervision, making technical decisions based on knowledge of internal conventions and industry best practices

• Applies knowledge of technical best practices in making decisions

Expected Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience and a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

• Proficiency in JavaScript, HTML, and CSS, with hands-on experience in at least one modern frontend framework such as React, Angular, or Vue.

• Proven experience building and scaling large, complex web applications end-to-end.

• Strong understanding of backend technologies, including microservices architecture, RESTful APIs, and API integration best practices.

• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, with solid knowledge of data architecture, schema design, and performance optimization.

• Skilled in applying software design patterns, data structures, and algorithms to develop efficient and maintainable code.

• Familiarity with cloud-native development, CI/CD pipelines, and agile methodologies.

• Excellent collaboration, problem-solving, and communication skills with a focus on delivering reliable, high-quality software.
