Job Profile Summary:
This position is responsible for leading the Office of Admissions Decision team. This team will maintain the student admissions decision through student information system(s), process improvement, data analysis, reporting, and data maintenance. In addition, the position will be directly responsible for staffing, team supervision, and assisting with career development for team members. Uphold the Office of Admissions Promise “to make a timely, accurate, and fair decision for all applicants and to communicate that decision and its implications with students and staff in a clear and concise manner.”
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for selecting and training quality staff
- Effectively manage team performance by establishing goals (metrics), distributing work, evaluating performance, and providing timely guidance and feedback to ensure accurate completion of work (QA) within service level agreement (SLA)
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and university policies and regulations related to admissions
- Prepare and present regular reports on admissions metrics and trends to university leadership
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all admissions activities and decisions
- Is data-driven with the ability to create and read data points on various reports
- Provide guidance for career growth and professional development
- Ensure team has functional training and technical resources to achieve job expectations
- Assist in the design, implementation, and maintenance of a robust training program for all departmental staff
- Collaborate with stakeholders, leadership, and other WGU departments to provide feedback, advice, counsel, and implementation of process and technology improvement, policy changes, and student success initiatives
- Act as a liaison for WGU with outside institutions, vendors, and organizations
- Counsel students, staff, and faculty on admissions policies and procedures
- Lead weekly team meetings
- Provide effective coaching with every member of the team on a weekly and as need basis
- Work with leaders in other departments to find solutions that will improve the overall experience for students, staff, and department
- Performs other related duties as assigned
