Duties & Responsibilities:
Job Responsibilities include:
- Define and execute technology strategy over a 12-24 month horizon; Engage, seek input and gain consensus from interested, impacted, and affiliated parties for the technology strategy; develop technology roadmap aligned with strategy
- Lead and drive solution recommendations using gap analyses, alternative analyses and total cost of ownership analyses across multiple technology options
- Maintain strong relationships with mid-level business partners and occasionally with executive level business partners; Demonstrate understanding of the business; Serve as the technology expert, participating in business meetings; articulate business value of technology solutions to business partners
- Function as a manager of managers; demonstrate ability to manage two or more teams lead by manager or team lead
- Present technology topics commensurate with the audience
- Focus on manager and associate management & development and use previous experience with competency-based management program.
- Provide coaching- listening & providing timely feedback to managers and associates.
- Interview candidates & make hiring decisions.
- Set challenging yet attainable goals for managers and performance management; requesting, managing & monitoring work efforts, ability to understand quality versus quantity.
- Understands current policies, processes, procedures, standards and compliance; promotes adherence, and provides recommendations for process improvements.
- Recognizes ambiguity and follows-up to clarify expectations.
- Participates in planning & management of budget & delivery of end results.
- Understands lights-on, non-discretionary & discretionary work; actively manages load & resource planning.
- Manage projects & work efforts to a System Delivery Life Cycle process (SDLC) and Project Management Life Cycle.
- Understands risk & impact to the business, recommend risk mitigation strategies and options for the business to consider.
- Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge & Skills
MINIMUM:
- Experience with and strong understanding of applications and technology services the technology team delivers
- Demonstrates knowledge of system development methodology
- Demonstrates knowledge of fundamental principles of functional and unit testing
- Demonstrates knowledge of business analysis, requirements, uses cases
- Demonstrates knowledge of agile and waterfall project management methodologies
- Demonstrates knowledge of web-services architecture and implementation
- Demonstrates knowledge of relational database technologies
- Demonstrates knowledge of continuous Integration tools
- Demonstrates knowledge & proficiency using Source Control tools and processes
- Demonstrates strong communication skills (verbal & written)
Requirements
MINIMUM:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
- Ten (10) years technical work experience
- Six (6) years management experience
PREFERRED:
- Banking or financial Services experience
Supervision/Management:
- Manages support for multiple IT areas of support or business unit with a span of control of 2-4 managers, or team leads and 25+ associates.
- Performs considerable short-term planning, scheduling, & coordinating.
- Responsible for the growth & development of direct reports.
Compensation Range:
Minimum: $99,750.00 - Maximum: $257,250.00The posted compensation range on this listing represents UMB’s standard for this role, but the actual compensation may vary by geographic location, experience level, and other job-related factors.
