The Opportunity:
Sephora is looking for a Senior Systems Engineer on their Client Engineering team. The ideal candidate will be comfortable thriving in ambiguity and have the flexibility to succeed in a fast-paced, changing environment. This role will be managing a wide range of devices and operating systems, including Windows, Mac, iOS, Android. In addition, the Senior Engineer will collaborate with other technical teams to triage support tickets and serve as a service desk request escalation point. The role requires knowledge of standard IT best practices, policies and procedures which include but are not limited to Security, computer operations, and change management. The ideal candidate will hold themselves and others to a high bar on providing first-class service. A technical mindset, and the willingness and ability to explain technical concepts to those who are less technical is essential to this role, as well as the following responsibilities:
- Design, build, implement, and support new features and enhance existing ones
- Partner with Business Analyst, Business & Technical Stakeholders, Architect, and / or fellow engineers to determine the best way to meet business requirements
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Sephora's Windows Endpoint Management solutions including SCCM and Intune
- Proactively monitor and improve technical performance, supportability, security, and stability of Client Engineering solutions
- Review tasks critically and ensure they are sized appropriately for continuous integration and incremental delivery, prioritized properly, and have dependencies noted.
- Participate in technical discussions with fellow engineers
- Review Code for others on the teams and provide thoughtful feedback
- Participate in the Major Incident Lifecycle including: Researching and facilitating resolution in the moment, reviewing and documenting root cause and future mitigation including documentation and transitioning knowledge down to L1/2 as needed
- Provide L3 Incident Management Support for Client Engineering owned Tools and Platforms
- Participate in on-call rotation for production support of all enterprise users (Retail, Corporate, Supply Chain)
Experience:
- 5-7 years as a systems engineer.
- 7-10 years of total experience, including at least 4 years of progressively responsible experience in systems engineering with demonstrated proficiency in project management, system design, coding standards, testing, quality assurance, and other related areas.
- Technical Requirements (Advanced Level or above understanding):
- SCCM Current Branch Management:
- Security & Management Tools: Azure AD, On-Prem Active Directory, Group Policy (Must understand the best practices around building and maintaining GPO in both a corporate and retail environment)
- Operating Systems: Windows (10/11)/Windows Server (2012R2/2019/2022)
- Expert Level in PowerShell scripting:
- REST/API (must understand concept of using this methodology)
- Proven experience managing patching
- Building applications/packages for deployments
- Understanding of Co-Management (Intune)
- Operating System Deployment (OSD)
- Microsoft Office Deployment and updating best practices
- Client Systems Management: Microsoft Endpoint Manager, System Center Configuration Manager Current Branch, Workspace One, AirWatch, InTune
- Cloud Application Management / Configuration: Box Lucid Chart, Smartsheet etc.
- Retail Environment Management: Experience working with systems in a retail environment (or similar distributed environment with connectivity/bandwidth/security concerns) is a plus.
- Technical Skills
- Writes production-ready code that is easily testable, easily understood by other developers, and accounts for edge cases and errors.
- Proficient at using systematic debugging to diagnose issues. Helps tune and change the monitoring on their team according to the organization's monitoring philosophy.
- Approaches all engineering work with a security
