CERTIFIED MEDICAL ASSISTANT JOB DESCRIPTION

Position Overview:

Medical Assistants at Premier Pain Solutions are an integral part of our healthcare team. Working alongside providers and other clinical staff, the Medical Assistant's primary role is to provide outstanding support and assistance with the care of our patients and to ensure the smooth operation of our pain management clinic. The Medical Assistant is responsible for both administrative and clinical tasks, making every day on the job dynamic and engaging.

Responsibilities of Medical Assistants Include:

• Prepare patients for examinations, take vitals, and record patients' health histories into the EMR system, eClnicalWorks (eCW).
• Pre-chart for future appointments
• Manage equipment and exam rooms by ensuring they are cleaned/sanitized and stocked with appropriate supplies
• Assist providers with medical treatments, procedures, and exams
• Queue medications for providers to review/send to pharmacies
• Respond timely to telephone encounters, messages, etc.
• Assist in the administration of injections and medications and perform routine specimen collections and tests
• Perform pill counts with patients who have been prescribed pain medications

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent 
• Current certification (CMA, CCMA) or registration (RMA)
• Fluency in Spanish 
• EHR/EMR system proficiency (i.e., Epic, eCW, Athena, Cerner)
• Strong attention to detail and ability to efficiently manage multiple tasks
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
