Your New Role...

Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) seeks a Senior Specialist, Public Affairs. This position plays an essential role in supporting Warner Bros. Discovery’s Public Affairs and Community Engagement efforts. The role requires effective collaboration with multiple stakeholders throughout the company and within the communities where we operate.

Your Role Accountabilities...

Government & Stakeholder Relations

Partner with the Director of Public Affairs to cultivate and maintain strategic relationships with local, state, and international elected and appointed officials, film commissioners, and other key stakeholders. Facilitate high-impact engagements—including special events, studio tours, and executive meetings—that advance Warner Bros. Discovery’s business objectives and public profile.

Community Impact Strategy

Collaborate with the Director of Public Affairs to design and implement engagement strategies for communities affected by production activities or business operations. Responsibilities include stakeholder mapping, issue identification, coordination with government offices, and alignment with the Community Engagement Team to activate meaningful partnerships with nonprofit organizations.

Event Planning & Execution

Support the planning, logistics, and execution of public affairs initiatives, including stakeholder meetings, community events, and film screenings. Ensure all activations reflect the company’s values and strategic priorities.

Production Engagement & Program Integration

Coordinate onboarding sessions with film and television productions to introduce Public Affairs, Sustainability, and Corporate Responsibility programs. Maintain a comprehensive database tracking WBD productions globally to ensure consistent engagement and program implementation.

Policy Analysis & Legislative Monitoring

Conduct research and analysis on relevant policy and regulatory issues. Collaborate with internal subject matter experts to ensure WBD’s positions are accurately represented in government relations efforts. Maintain and update a legislative tracking system to monitor developments at the state and local levels.

Local Community Relations

Assist in managing relationships with Warner Bros. Studio neighbors, including proactive communication regarding production, construction, or event-related activities that may impact the surrounding community.

Community Outreach Program Development

Work alongside the Manager of Community Engagement to identify opportunities for outreach in key markets. Support the development and execution of programs that align with business goals and enhance WBD’s community presence.

Research & Data Support

Conduct targeted research on assigned topics, including economic impact data, nonprofit vetting, and stakeholder analysis, to inform strategic decision-making and program development.

Special Projects & Cross-Functional Support

Provide support on special projects and ad hoc initiatives as assigned. Collaborate across departments to ensure alignment and execution of Public Affairs objectives.

Qualifications & Experience...

  • 2-4 years in public affairs/government; experience in a legislative office, entertainment industry, or event management preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required.
  • Experience with Adobe Suite (Acrobat Pro, Illustrator, Photoshop) preferred.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
