Job Description

You will blur the lines between graphic and product CMF design, creating a truly unique role as a product graphic designer on one of the most appealing and challenging product forms, the bicycle. Mix Dieter Rams with Saul Bass and a dash of Hermès and you will start to see the spectrum of design, and style, that is covered in this role.

The Product Graphic Designer will create best in class design for ALL of Trek’s products:  bicycles (mainline and Project One), helmets, wheels, tires, accessories, as well as opportunities to design for special projects and our professional teams/athletes. You must be a self-starter with a drive to deliver innovative ideas, strategy and design. 

The Product Design team is responsible for trend research, color, paint, and graphics on all products. It is a rare opportunity to work for the leading bicycle brand in the USA, and globally, that provides a unique chance to influence the design at Trek and the outdoor industry at large. This role is a part of the Product Design team at Trek, surrounded by other graphic designers, industrial designers, digital designers, engineers etc. This role will report to the Creative Director of Product Design. This role will be based at our Waterloo, Wisconsin headquarters.

A few crucial details:

• First and foremost, this is a collaborative role on a close-knit team. You must work well with others, be open to critique, and be willing to engage in design discussions. Be a great teammate.
• Trek has ambitions to be the greatest design-driven company, beyond just cycling. We expect you to create industry-leading, original designs for every project that comes across your desk.
• A design or idea only proves it’s worth when it can be successfully brought from concept to production. We're looking for candidates who can clearly communicate their vision and confidently present it to peers, managers, and executives—ensuring alignment and driving execution across teams, on time.
• Work with key stakeholders to ensure design and product goals are aligned.

Requirements:

• 2+ years experience in a graphic design or CMF design role.
• Experience and/or interest in the cycling and outdoor industries.
• Intimate knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Illustrator and Photoshop.
• Keyshot/Adobe Substance/3D rendering experience is a plus.
• Augmented/Virtual Reality experience is a plus.
