Job Description:

The Corporate Accounting Manager will be responsible for the monthly corporate accounting close process, as well as assisting with preparation of the quarterly bank compliance and annual external financial statements, including supporting schedules, in accordance with US GAAP. This position will also be responsible for preparing and reviewing corporate balance sheet reconciliations and expense accounts, monitoring status and completeness of all tasks related to the monthly close process and interfacing with other internal and external parties.

The role will also involve assisting the Director, Corporate Accounting with various efficiency and quality initiatives, researching and documenting technical accounting analyses, documenting accounting policies, and monitoring and implementing new accounting standards.

The ideal candidate has a strong working knowledge of US GAAP.

Responsibilities

• This role will be responsible for managing the month-end and quarter-end close processes including reviewing journal entries and supporting reconciliations for the corporate ledger.

• Support and assist the Director, Corporate Accounting, while providing leadership and support to corporate accounting staff.

• Preparation of the monthly statement of cash flows.

• Assist with creation and preparation of quarterly lender reporting packages.

• Research technical accounting matters and assist writing policy memos.

• Team with external auditors to ensure an efficient and timely audit by preparing support schedules and footnotes while supervising audit progression.

• Have a strong understanding of ASC 606 - Revenue Recognition and ASC 842 - Leases.

• Assisting leading process improvement initiatives to gain efficiencies to reduce close timeline and improve internal controls.

• Assist in providing data to third-party valuation specialist regarding goodwill, tangible and intangible asset impairment analyses.

• Work on ad hoc projects as needed.

Requirements

• 5+ years of relevant experience in Accounting/Finance, preferably in large, publicly traded or privately held companies or public accounting firm.

• Required: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, Master’s degree a plus.

• Required: Certified Public Accountant (CPA).

• Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills required.

• Must have a working knowledge of GAAP.

• Functional understanding of financial and operational business processes and reporting.

• Experience with mergers and acquisitions/purchase price accounting a plus.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Good analytical judgment and problem-solving skills while demonstrating high ethical standards. #LI-RC!
