We are hiring! AtkinsRéalis continues to grow in the US and is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Emergency Response Lead to join our team. This position is critical in managing and coordinating emergency response efforts for the water utility, ensuring the continuity and safety of water services. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in emergency management, excellent leadership skills, and a deep understanding of water utility operations.

How will you contribute to the team?  

Key Responsibilities:

• Emergency Planning and Preparedness: Assist DC Water in developing and maintain comprehensive emergency response plans, procedures, and protocols specific to water utility operations.
• Crisis Management: Support DC Water Operations in coordinating response efforts during emergency situations, including weather events, system failures, and security threats, to minimize impact and restore services promptly.
• Risk Assessment: Continuously evaluate potential risks and vulnerabilities within the water utility system and develop strategies to mitigate them.
• Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for the water program during emergencies, providing timely updates and information to stakeholders.
• After-Action Reviews/Post-Event Reporting: Conduct thorough after-action reviews following emergencies to identify areas for improvement and implement necessary changes to response plans and procedures.

What will you contribute?

• Bachelor's degree in Emergency Management, Environmental Science, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in emergency response management or operations, preferably within the water utility sector.
• Strong knowledge of water utility operations and infrastructure.
• Proficiency in asset management and work order software such as Maximo
