This role is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the Energy Market Management system platforms and environments.</p><p>Reporting to <b>Anders Bjorkman,</b> you will work in a collaborative environment.<br/> </p><p><b>How you’ll make an impact :</b></p><ul><li>Analyze and understand engineering, business, and software requirements. Propose technically feasible solutions with estimates for the required effort. </li><li>Research, design, develop, test, integrate and document system/platform software applications, while following best engineering and software development practices. </li><li>Actively research and further your own knowledge in computer systems architectures, use of open-source software components and system security practices.</li><li>Collaborate with other software engineers and internal stakeholders in a team environment to deliver large system solutions.</li></ul><p></p><p><b>Your background:</b></p><ul><li>Extensive experience with Java programming.</li><li>Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.</li><li>Proficient English written and oral communication skills.</li><li>Experience with Linux OS in virtualized environment.</li><li>Experience writing/maintaining shared and static service layers.</li><li>Experience writing highly available/fault tolerant applications.</li><li>Experience with scripting languages e.g. Korn Shell, Bash, Perl.</li><li>Experience debugging and patching large, legacy code bases.</li></ul><p><br/><b>Desired Experience:</b></p><ul><li>Experience with C/C++ programming is a plus.</li><li>Experience with relational databases Oracle or PostgreSQL</li><li>Experience with debug tools such as GDB and DBX is a plus.</li><li>Structures and databases, multi-threading, high performance, memory intensive analytical applications.</li><li>Experience with Cyber Security tools a plus.</li></ul><p></p><h2>Qualified individuals with a disability may request a reasonable accommodation if you are unable or limited in your ability to use or access the Hitachi Energy career site as a result of your disability.
