The Sr. RRT Flight Team is responsible for the care of critically ill/ injured patients at the referring facility and during transports to the receiving facility. Responsible for relaying information regarding the patient's condition to other team members in order to develop individualized, evidence based, plan of care for each patient. In addition, complies with Pedi-Flite policy and procedure, hospital policies, and regulatory agency requirements. Participates in quality improvement, marketing for the Pedi-Flite program and serves as an educator and special resource provider of critical care services. What you will do
  • Responsible for the care of critically ill/injured patients at the referring facility and during transports to the receiving facility.
  • Responsible for relaying information regarding the patient’s condition to other team members to develop an individualized, evidence-based plan of care for each patient.
  • Complies with Pedi-flite policy and procedure, hospital policies, and regulatory agency requirements.
  • Maintains a culture of safety by observing policies and regulations related to the care of patients and crew while operating in a transport environment.
  • Completes responsibilities to assure readiness for transport with prompt documentation of these checks.
  • Maintains clinical competencies as required.
  • Maintains mandatory requirements to be a transport team member and seeks opportunities to renew these requirements without prompting prior to the expiration date.
  • Serves as a stakeholder in the Pedi-Flite Quality Improvement Process (CQI).
  • Participates in an operational activity that furthers the daily to quarterly performance of Pedi-Flite as a transport program
  • Participates in Pedi-Flite communications via meeting, and other means of communication.
  • Participates in approved marketing efforts and educational activities both internal and external.
  • Performs other job functions as needed or requested.

Education/Formal Training Requirements
  • Required - Associates Degree Respiratory Care
  • Preferred - Bachelor's Degree Respiratory Care
  • Preferred - Technical Degree or Diploma Respiratory Care

Work Experience Requirements
  • Required - Critical Care 3-5 years
  • Preferred - Pediatric and neonatal critical care 3-5 years

Licenses and Certifications Requirements
  • Required - Registered Respiratory Therapist - Tennessee - Tennessee Board of Respiratory Care
  • Required - Registered Respiratory Therapist - National - National Board for Respiratory Care
  • Required - Neonatal -Pediatric Specialty - National Board for Respiratory Care
  • Required - BASIC LIFE SUPPORT - American Heart Association
  • Required - EMS Driver - Mississippi State Department of Health
  • Required - Class D License with F - Tennessee - Tennessee Motor Vehicle
  • Required - Pediatric Advanced Life Support - American Heart Association
  • Required - Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support - American Heart Association
  • Required - Neonatal Resuscitation Program Certification - American Heart Association
  • Required - STABLE - Neonatal - American Association for Respiratory Care
  • Required - PreHospital Trauma Life Support - National Association of Medical Technicians
