Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), Physician Practice, Full-time

As a Licensed Practical Nurse with the Brooks Physicians Practice you are working in an outpatient setting. The LPN performs nursing functions under the direction of a physician. They will be following the plans of care, participates in care planning, and performs nursing actions in accord with company policy and state law.
Responsibilities:
- Documents observations and care given in accord with company process according to company policies and procedures.
- Administers basic nursing care to the rehab patient and assists in giving care to the acutely ill rehab patient relative to patient age, developmental needs, and understanding.
- Interviews patient about current problems, medications, and allergies and reviews medical record for pertinent previous and current information.
- Participates in patient treatment regimen, including administering medications (under the supervision of a physician and registered nurse).
- Performs variety of office responsibilities: answers phones and takes messages and performs triage within scope of licensed practical nursing practice in an accurate and timely manner.
- Takes and record vital signs: temperature, pulse, respirations, and blood pressure.
- Maintains adequate inventory of exam room supplies and prepares exam rooms at the beginning and end of day and between each patient.
- Accepts referrals from physicians, case managers, attorneys, patients and other sources, completing referrals with all information.
- Prepares the chart on each patient by obtaining all necessary forms, information and prescriptions and keeping them up-to-date.
- Assists Physician in Urodynamics testing procedures.
- Assists Physician in botulinum toxin injections.
Qualifications:
- Licensed as an LPN in the state of Florida
- 1 year of experience
- IV Certified
- Current hands on BLS certification
Hours: Monday - Friday, 7:30am - 4:30pm
