As a Nurse Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping clinical practice, optimizing operations, and leading a talented, mission‑driven nursing team. In partnership with the Chief Nursing Officer, Associate Chief Nursing Officer, and Nursing Directors, you’ll lead with purpose, foster collaboration, and ensure a culture of compassion, quality, and continuous improvement.

Job Description:

What You’ll Do

Lead Clinical Excellence

  • Champion evidence‑based practice and ensure alignment with Nursing Practice Guidelines.
  • Inspire and support staff participation in shared governance, professional development, certification, and nursing research.
  • Maintain deep knowledge of emerging clinical trends to elevate care delivery.

Advance System Coordination & Collaboration

  • Translate departmental goals into actionable work aligned with LHMC’s mission.
  • Use data-driven insights to guide daily operations and process improvements.
  • Build strong cross-department relationships to enhance communication, workflow, and patient experience.

Drive Quality & Innovation

  • Anticipate future needs and proactively shape plans that elevate patient outcomes.
  • Partner with interdisciplinary teams to address regulatory standards, patient satisfaction, and quality metrics including NDNQI indicators and Core Measures.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.

Empower and Develop Your Team

  • Recruit, mentor, and retain a highly engaged and high-performing nursing workforce.
  • Conduct meaningful performance reviews and support individualized growth plans.
  • Celebrate achievements, encourage creativity, and create an inclusive, supportive environment for all employees.

Lead with Fiscal Responsibility

  • Participate in annual budget planning and ongoing financial management.

Minimum Qualifications

Education

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
  • Master’s degree in Nursing or a related field strongly preferred to support advanced leadership and understanding of nursing services.

Licensure & Certifications

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities

  • Strong clinical competency and expertise within the relevant nursing specialty.
  • Exceptional interpersonal communication, leadership presence, and organizational skills.<
