Role Overview

As an AI Engineering Intern, you’ll work at the intersection of software development, large language models, predictive analytics, and investment analysis. You’ll tackle real problems on production systems—not toy projects—and gain hands-on experience building AI/ML solutions that transform how we identify and evaluate investment opportunities in biomedical and climate technologies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in designing and developing end-to-end AI applications, from prototype through deployment
  • Build and iterate on AI agents, workflows, and tool integrations (e.g., MCP servers, agentic pipelines)
  • Contribute to production-grade forecasting or classification systems with attention to latency, scalability, and robustness
  • Help develop full-stack AI applications with both frontend and backend components
  • Work with proprietary research data to train, evaluate, and improve ML or GenAI models
  • Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and cross-functional collaboration with analysts and investors

Academic & Experience Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Data Science, or a related field
  • Coursework or project experience in AI/ML (e.g., deep learning, NLP, reinforcement learning, computer vision)
  • Prior internship or meaningful project experience in software engineering preferred
  • Exposure to healthcare and/or finance domains is a plus

Technical Requirements

  • Strong Python programming skills
  • Familiarity with JavaScript and/or Java
  • Understanding of machine learning fundamentals (regression, classification, clustering, neural networks)
  • Experience with at least one deep learning framework (PyTorch preferred)
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS preferred—SageMaker, Bedrock, or similar)
  • Comfort with Git, containerization basics (Docker), and command-line workflows
  • Interest in or experience with agentic coding tools (e.g., Claude Code, Codex) and AI workflow frameworks

Nice to Have

  • Experience with LLM application development (prompt engineering, RAG, fine-tuning)
  • Familiarity with agent frameworks, MCP integrations, or multi-agent architectures
  • Experience building data pipelines or working with large-scale datasets
  • Contributions to open-source projects or a strong personal project portfolio

What You’ll Gain

  • Hands-on experience building AI systems that directly impact investment decisions in breakthrough medical and climate technologies
  • Mentorship from senior engineers and exposure to a proven team of analysts and investors
  • Access to extensive proprietary datasets and real-world AI/ML challenges
