Purpose
The research program coordinator will support the day-to-day coordination and implementation of observational studies, community-engaged research projects, and evaluation of charitable food system programs. All projects aim to improve the food and nutrition security of individuals, families, and communities through collaborative and community-centered efforts. The position includes study and project-related tasks including relationship building, participant recruiting, and implementation of study procedures. In coordination with the Primary investigator, the Senior Research Coordinator will be responsible for developing and maintaining project plans, tools to track deliverables to ensure successful project completion, managing data collection, and supporting study implementation. They will also proactively identify and resolve issues related to projects.
The position entails working closely with interdisciplinary nutrition scientists, community leaders, public health professionals, and diverse communities. The work shift is typically a usual M-F schedule; however, it is possible that weekend and evening work may be needed to meet study scheduling needs. This position is for 30 hours per week.
The position will end 8/31/2024, with the potential of extension based on performance and funding.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree with 2-3 years of work experience in a related field.
Must be team-oriented and demonstrate collaborative working skills
Ability to work independently
The ability to communicate with others in a clear, understandable and professional manner on the phone and in person
Demonstrated use of good written and verbal communication skills
Must be comfortable with speaking with community members, business leaders, academic professionals, in all formats – in person, by phone, or by video call.
Must possess effective project management skills, including the ability to plan, organize and schedule work in an efficient and productive manner, focusing on key priorities and meeting deadlines
Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Public Health, Nutrition, Health Education, or a related field
Experience coordinating research studies
Proficient in the use of Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and RedCAP
Experience using GIS software
Registered Dietitian
Experience working with community organizations and/or food banks
Experience conducting research in social sciences
Familiarity with data storage, data entry, and data management
Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
Energetic and eager to learn new skills
Capable of both independent and collaborative work
Strong analytical skills and ability to resolve problems
Fluent in Spanish
Salary Range
$58,000+ (annual full-time rate), depending on qualifications
