About the role

Job Description Summary

Drive the Management of Change and deployment of Product Quality Planning for assigned parts within GE Aerospace suppliers to ensure the on-time supply of production engine components that meet cost, rate, and General Electric Aerospace Manufacturing and Quality requirements.
The Advanced Supplier Quality Engineer will lead the standardization of tools and processes across the business. This role will collaborate closely with other functions such as Engineering, Commercial, and Services to develop and implement new aerospace standards effectively. Additionally, the engineer will ensure that assigned suppliers continually enhance their Management of Change processes in alignment with customer design intent and verify their systems for compliance with end customer requirements.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Accountable for sourcing quality parts qualification.
  • Coordinate indirectly sourcing quality members with all related new program activities to meet the needs of both internal and external customers, supporting continuous improvement in Proactive Quality concepts.
  • Develop procedures, regulations, and work instructions that support Proactive Quality under AS9145 / AS13100 requirements.
  • Manage overall Supplier Quality Management of Change as defined by established processes, policies, and tools for an assigned portfolio of hardware, programs, and/or suppliers.
  • Support new product launches to ensure supplier quality meets required standards.
  • Mentor and coach various projects involving several part families and/or different Engine Programs.
  • Lead and develop roadmaps for successful integration of Management of Change Product Quality Planning into existing policies and procedures.
  • Participate in risk assessment and action planning for Management of Change.
  • Maintain and communicate NPI, Source Change, and/or NTI plan execution to partner pillars within Supplier Performance & Execution, respective Commodity/Part Family teams, and customer program focal points. Inform respective teams on progress and lessons learned to inform future strategy.
  • Collaborate with leaders in different functions to implement changes within NTI, NPI, and Product Management.
  • Train and coach individuals and teams on various elements within Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) such as FMEAs, Gage R&Rs, Control Plans, etc.
  • Develop and implement a review process to ensure rigor and quality of completed deliverables in collaboration with various leaders.
  • Generate executive summaries indicating status, business impact, and significant issues related to NTI/NPI projects.
  • Oversee both Supplier Quality Assurance and Supplier Quality Development, including supplier qualifications, action plans, audits, and assisting key suppliers towards industrial standards of excellence.
  • Likely to be an individual contributor with proven interpersonal skills, communicating with direct colleagues and the business about design and coordination services rendered. Provide informal guidance to new team members and explain complex information in straightforward situations.
  • Operate with some autonomy, focusing on execution of activities and provision of advice within an enabling discipline covered by standard functional practices and procedures. Activities require professional judgment but may need more senior levels of guidance.
  • Provide concise, complete, and accurate documentation of inspection results relative to the area of responsibility. In appropriate functional areas, this includes supporting inspection and test status requirements defined by regulations, engineering product specifications, or Control Plans, and PPAP approval.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college + a minimum of 5 years of manufacturing for automotive or aerospace experience. 
  • Knowledge of manufacturing and production process
  • Knowledge of government compliance and quality control regulatory standards
