Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Performance Test lead. The Ideal candidates should have a software engineering background with a proven track record in performance testing and engineering.

Responsibilities:

• Define performance test strategies, design test plans, scripts, and execution oversight
• Run performance tests, diagnose, isolate, and solve complex performance and scalability issues
• Work directly with all the stakeholders, engineers, performance testers, product management, and DBAs
• Monitor and collect test results, and conduct root cause analysis of performance issues and bottlenecks
• Evaluate the latest performance monitoring tools and make recommendations

Qualifications

• 7+ years of hands-on experience in performance testing tools like JMeter, BlazeMeter, Locust, or similar tools
• In-depth knowledge and experience testing transactional, message-based, and web-based applications
• Write Python or Java code to customize supporting tools
• SQL and Unix knowledge to work on test data needs/log analysis
• Hands-on experience using monitoring tools like Dynatrace or Splunk
• Experienced in agile or scrum software development methodologies
• Excellent communication, documentation, reporting, and problem-solving skills
• Self-starter, and can work independently with minimal support

Nice to have:

• Familiar with Jenkins, Docker, and/or Kubernetes and Cloud concepts.

(California Only) Pursuant to applicable law, SquareTrade estimates the possible base salary for this role, if hired in California, to be within the following range: $140-170K.
