We’re looking for a global-minded and dynamic leader to drive and execute the employee communications strategy for our Engineering organization at LinkedIn.
In this role you’ll partner with our Senior Vice President of Engineering to lead and oversee the development, implementation and execution of executive communications, employee experiences, and communications that connect, engage, and inspire our more than 7,000 engineering employees around the world. As a strategic thought partner to Engineering leadership, you will have strong business acumen and tenacity to develop and deliver high-impact and creative communications across channels. You will thrive in a fast-paced, innovative organization and be passionate about using communications to elevate our technology roadmap, amplify our culture, and support business growth. This role will lead our Engineering employee communications team and be responsible for driving strategy across the team, resourcing and prioritization.
Reporting to the Vice President of Employee Communications, you will support developing a best-in-class employee communications team, setting long-term organizational strategy, and helping shape LinkedIn’s growth.
Responsibilities
Act as a strategic and trusted partner to the SVP of Engineering, advising on the right forum, timing, and content of communications to ensure employees are informed, inspired, and empowered to help LinkedIn succeed.
Develop and execute the internal communications strategy for more than 7,000 global Engineering employees, focusing on messaging, timing, channels, and audiences. Be as comfortable deep in details as you are at 20,000-foot strategic thinking.
Technical acumen to understand complex concepts and translate for target audiences and channels.
Shape narratives that highlight the value our technology delivers to members and customers, and the teams that help achieve this.
Provide expert counsel to Engineering senior leadership on internal messaging, change management initiatives, and communication priorities.
Plan and manage the annual R&D Leadership Summit, including theme, agenda, speakers, and communications.
Oversee strategy, resourcing, and prioritization of the Engineering Employee Communications team; invest in the team’s growth and development.
Partner with cross-functional teams, including HR, Talent Acquisition, Chief of Staff, and External Communications to reinforce the long-term technology strategy and support change management, cultural initiatives, and employee engagement efforts.
Creatively use various communication formats such as live events, videos, and emails to inform and inspire employees.
Evaluate the impact of internal communications and use insights to optimize and evolve strategies.
Lead with adaptability, focus on problem solving through innovative solutions, and thrive in a landscape that can rapidly evolve.
Serve as a senior leader on the Employee Communications team to support the development of our global strategy, sponsor strategic projects, and drive collaboration and alignment across our work.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
13+ years communications experience.
10+ years employee communications experience working with and providing guidance to senior leaders.
10+ years of people management experience.
Proven track record for leading and inspiring high performing employee communications teams.
Proven expertise in technology and engineering communications, able to understand how to make the complex simple in communications.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with experience in crafting internal messaging and content for various internal channels in
