The University of Arizona's Athletics Department invites you to apply for the role of Financial Analyst I. This position analyzes and prepares recommendations for short-term financial planning and forecasting, conducts ad hoc budget analysis to support accurate financial reporting, monitors the Athletics Department's performance against budget and financial targets, and assists with completing financial reports for Arizona Athletics.
This position requires the ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and travel as needed. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Duties & Responsibilities- Conduct basic research and data analysis by compiling, interpreting, and evaluating data from various sources.
- Assist in the preparation of regular financial data for departmental units.
- Generate reports on departmental expenses and revenues.
- Assist in preparing financial forecasts by analyzing historical data, identifying trends, and making projections to support budgeting decisions.
- Assist with financial forecasting and the reconciliation of internal accounts.
- Accurately record and store financial information.
- Assist with completing all necessary financial reporting for the Athletics Department, including the Federal EADA Report, NCAA/AUP Report, NCAA Bowl Report, and UBIT. Serve as one of the points of contact during external audits.
- Assist in coordinating programs and projects under the guidance of leadership or departmental unit leaders.
- Budget accountability.
- Additional duties as assigned.

- Knowledge of accounting principles and financial management practices.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; Adobe Suite programs; and other relevant software.
- Basic knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations.

Minimum Qualifications- Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through experience required.
- One (1) year of relevant work experience required.
- Experience working in a college or university athletics department.
- Experience developing, managing, and monitoring budgets.
