The following position is to join our RTX Corporate team:

The Director, Talent Management is a global thought partner and subject matter expert in the consultation and activation of talent practices. This role will head development and promotion of RTX’s talent philosophy across the global, matrixed enterprise to provide effective performance and career management solutions for 185,000 employees.

This role requires active partnership and collaboration with senior HR and business leaders, the Talent Centers of Excellence (COE) and business unit (BU) talent teams to implement a comprehensive talent strategy that enables current and future organizational success. This includes leveraging current people capabilities, identifying key competencies to develop, and designing strategic and programmatic talent management practices and solutions. The candidate will have direct influence on RTX’s culture of performance excellence by building a strong and diverse talent pipeline that emphasizes continued talent movement, career growth and development. 

This position reports directly to the Senior Director, Talent Development & Learning (TD&L) and will work closely with peer TD&L Leaders and BU Talent teams in achieving performance and business goals. 

What You Will Do

  • Develop an integrated Talent Management philosophy and strategy that encompasses end-to-end processes for Performance Management, Goal Setting, Career Management, Talent Reviews, Succession Planning, Talent Segmentation and Assessments and Coaching.
  • Oversee Talent Review process to identify talent development actions, opportunities to accelerate development and succession. 
  • Establish key metrics to assess the success of the talent pipeline. Utilize data for insights on effectiveness of talent initiatives and programs in facilitating business goals. 
  • Serve as a strategic thought partner with senior executive leadership to align talent management solutions and best practices with business objectives. 
  • Design and deploy talent solutions for various audiences within a highly matrixed organization.  
  • Emphasizes collaboration and innovation to create high performing teams within broader organization to drive strategic results. 
  • Influence RTX’s continued innovations to performance management processes, ensuring alignment with strategic vision of Talent, HR and business leaders by defining core leadership behaviors and necessary competencies at all levels. 
  • Partner with HR and Talent COE leaders and teams to effectively link performance management to rewards and talent reviews to career movement & development opportunities and learning enablement. 
  • Leads, manages, and coaches a global team in the execution of projects and initiatives, measuring individual and team performance, and providing clear feedback to drive cooperative achievements towards business objectives. 
  • Manage budget for functional area of responsibility. 
  • Travel up to 30%. 

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 14 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 12 years experience. 
  • Relevant experience in Human Resources, Learning, Talent Development and/or Organizational Effectiveness.
