Senior R&D Scientist - Functional Ingredients

<p>Requisition  ID : 497091 </p> <h2><u>Job Description</u></h2> <p><br/> IFF is seeking a highly motivated Senior R&amp;D Scientist to join our global Functional Ingredients R&amp;D team to support our Nourish Division. The position requires an experienced scientist with proven track record of independently conceptualizing present and future market needs for functional food &amp; beverage ingredients. Demonstrate entrepreneurial and innovative mindset at the early-stage product development and contributes as technical project lead and team player in multiple projects across groups and functions.</p> <p>Key focus will be to translate market needs into technical solutions through scientific research disciplines and early stages of product discoveries across technologies and strategic focus areas such as fermented flavors. </p> <p> </p> <p>Key Responsibilities:<br/>  </p> <ul> <li>Leads ideation to translate customer gaps and consumer needs into discovery research plans and pre-Dream project proposals aligned with Business Strategies and Innovation Programs.</li> <li>Leads projects at least from pre-Dream through Dream stages to gating into Design and plays a lead role in communicating project results and advancement to relevant stakeholders.</li> <li>Reviews literature / patents to identify FTO barriers and mitigation plans. </li> <li>Leads and conducts internal/external scientific experiments to deliver early technical reasons to believe for gating through Dream to Design with identified technology barriers and their mitigation plans.</li> <li>Demonstrates technical leadership, innovative mindset, and adaptability in responding to needs of Ingredients and Innovation Programs.</li> <li>Builds strong collaboration with relevant Business partners and Innovation Program Directors and leverages marketplace knowledge through direct or indirect customer intimacy.</li> <li>Supervises and/or imparts technical proficiency to others like technicians and peer scientists.</li> <li>Independently leads and/or contributes to projects with milestone deliverables as planned. </li> </ul> <h2><u>Job Requirements</u></h2> <p><br/> Job Qualifications:<br/> <br/> •    PhD in Chemistry or Food Technology with minimum 6 years of experience or equivalent.<br/> •    Proven track of accomplishments in related role to demonstrate mastery of responsibilities and successful completion of high impact projects and/or technology implementation(s).<br/> •    Innovative mindset aligned with strategic thinking.<br/> •    Adaptability to Business needs across Ingredients.<br/> •    Execution excellence and drive for progress.<br/> •    Effective communication.<br/> •    Courage and entrepreneurship.<br/> •    Ability to deliver on time, be proactive, take initiative and provide structure.<br/> •    Fluent in English at a professional level.</p> <p> </p> <p>Some travel activity may become relevant with an estimated load of up to 20 travel days per year.<br/> <br/> Please submit your CV and application in English as soon as possible.
