Lead QA Engineer

At FoodTec Solutions, we’re powering the next generation of point-of-sale and web ordering systems for the restaurant industry. With our engineering team split between the U.S. (headquartered in Needham, MA) and Thessaloniki (POS Solutions), we build and scale enterprise-grade platforms used by thousands of restaurants and millions of customers.

We’re looking for a Senior QA Lead to take full ownership of the quality process across our software lifecycle — from planning to release. You will lead test strategy, drive test automation, introduce performance testing processes, and mentor a growing QA team.

What You’ll Do: 

• Lead and scale QA activities across multiple projects and product lines.
  
• Define and implement best practices for manual and automated testing.
• Own and evolve the test automation framework using Java and Selenium.
• Set up and run performance, stress, and load tests using tools like J Meter or similar.
• Collaborate with Product Managers and Developers in Agile teams to ensure high-quality, timely releases.
• Contribute to and maintain CI/CD pipelines, integrating automated tests and quality gates.
• Work closely with Dev Ops to ensure QA processes align with environments built on RDS, Kubernetes, and micro-services.
• Mentor and coach junior QA engineers, providing technical and process guidance.
  

What You Bring:

• 4–6+ years of hands-on QA experience, including at least 2 years in a lead or senior QA role.
• Solid knowledge of test planning, bug tracking, and test case management tools.
• Experience running performance/load testing using J Meter, Locust, or similar tools.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and working in Agile/Scrum teams.
• Experience testing systems using RDS (PostgreSQL or Oracle) and microservices architectures.
• Strong problem-solving mindset and attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

Bonus Points For:

• Experience with containerized environments (Docker/Kubernetes).
• Knowledge of back-end test automation (REST API testing).
• Understanding of observability tools for QA metrics and incident tracing.
