Overview
The Supervisor Pharmacy supervises the work of pharmacy staff in the compounding, storing, and dispensing of prescription medications. This role is responsible for ensuring safe, timely, efficient, compliant and productive workflows within the pharmacy department. This role contributes to the development of pharmacy operating policies and procedures and ensures that all policies and procedures are understood and followed by pharmacy staff.

Responsibilities
Supervises daily operations of the pharmacy department by disbursing day-to-day work assignments, scheduling staff, and reviewing the performance of staff.Answers difficult customer requests for information about pharmacy services such as medication delivery and drug information.Supervises essential processes to maintain inventory, including ordering, restocking, and rotating inventory.Oversees the delivery of medications and supplies to patient care and the retrieval of unused medication.Prepares drug usage and inventory Records and reports indicating potential ways of reducing the cost of drugs, and the inventory of controlled substances and other drugs which are subject to abuse or require special security measures.Monitors expiration dates and removes medications from active stock when they expire.Ensures proper destruction of controlled substances and maintains appropriate records.Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
EDUCATION:Required: Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.)
EXPERIENCE: Required: 5-7 years
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:Required:Registered PharmacistBLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider
