As a Sr Engineer I, Refining Project, you will help drive projects that keep critical operations running safely, efficiently, and sustainably. You’ll work closely with a wide range of experts, gaining exposure to both hands-on field activities and strategic project planning. What You’ll Do

  • Develop and evaluate engineering plans and feasibility studies that support the design, improvement, and maintenance of refinery installations.
  • Manage a group of small projects from FEL 0/1 through Detailed Design with an EPC Project.
  • Assess the soundness of proposed engineering solutions and contribute to solution design, including feasibility testing and validation.
  • Deliver small‑ to medium‑scale projects within established program plans, collaborating with operations, maintenance, and technical teams to ensure safe and efficient execution.
  • Provide insight into process and system design, identify project risks, and recommend practical, innovative approaches.
  • Support field and site‑maintenance activities by reviewing planned work and helping ensure alignment with established standards.
  • Follow all health, safety, and environmental policies while helping identify and mitigate potential risks in daily work.
  • Gather and analyze data to inform project decisions, provide clear progress updates to stakeholders, and support performance management by setting and tracking personal objectives.
  • Continue building your technical abilities, stay current on industry best practices, and ensure all work meets regulatory and organizational compliance standards.

 

What You’ll Bring – Required

  • Legally authorized to work in the job posting country
  • Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering discipline
  • 3 or more years of project development, project engineering, or project management coordination experience
  • Willing and able to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Card (TWIC)
  • Possess a valid driver's license
  • Must be willing and able, with or without reasonable accommodation, to comply with the following:
    • Travel up to 5%
    • Operate company vehicle on site premises and/or public roads up to 5%
    • Work extended hours, which may include evenings, weekends, and holidays, and perform occasional duties
    • Transport articles up to 50 pounds
    • Climb ladders and stairs up to 200 feet
    • Work safely near large, hot, high-speed machines, around chemicals and hydrocarbons under high pressure and heat, and in harsh weather conditions
    • Wear fire retardant clothing and personal protective equipment
    • Maintain face daily for proper respirator/face mask seal (some examples include being free of facial hair and/or clean shaven)

 

What Makes You Stand Out – Preferred

  • 5 or more years of project development, project engineering, or project management coordination experience
  • 5 or more years of experience working in the oil & gas or petrochemical industry
  • Professional Engineering license (PE)
  • A variety of experience in areas of Projects, such as a specific Engineering discipline, Construction execution, or Project Controls
  • Experience as a lead Engineer with an Engineering contractor
  • Excellent communication and negotiating skills
  • Proficiency in written communications and presentations
  • Field experience in construction-related activities

 

Compensation Range 

This position has a base salary range of $141,300 – $172,700.
