Location: Elementary Schools located throughout Albuquerque
An Off-Campus Work-Study Position - MUST have a Work-Study Award
This program requires a work schedule of 15 - 18 hours per week, and availability for afternoon program 2-6pm.
Position Summary:
This is an off-campus work-study position with Community For
Learning located throughout the Albuquerque Metro Area.
Community For Learning (CFL) Project SEAL provides social, emotional &
academic learning in fifteen Albuquerque school communities. Primarily with
Kinder-5th grade. Program designed to help at-risk students to
build resiliency, improve academic skills, and promote social skills. Supervisors
will work together with CFL staff to create a safe, educated, effective, and
empowered school community that will improve the lives of all that participate.
Programming includes opportunities to develop
academic skills, engage in recreation and outdoor play, participate in
meaningful service-learning projects, enhance creativity and express themselves
through art, explore and develop interests and talents, learn to work as part
of a team, develop positive character traits, and develop leadership skills.
Supervisor responsibilities will include:
Will follow all state required regulations at all times.
Manage staff at program
Provide support and maintain a good working relationship with students, community and staff to ensure a quality program.
Various administrative responsibilities.
Other duties as assigned.
Enrolled in a degree seeking program at UNM, Enrolled at least half-time (6 hours) at UNM for fall and spring semesters (Audit hours do not count), and if Work Study, you must meet Satisfactory Academic Progress.
Preferred QualificationsApplicants must be
hardworking, caring, responsible, and eager to work with children and their
families. Experience working with children and community is helpful. Fluent
Spanish or ASL speakers are strongly encouraged to apply. Instructors must be
willing to act as an effective member of a team. Strong interpersonal and
problem-solving skills, flexibility and an ability to conduct professional
and considerate interactions are a must.
