Stakkd is seeking a manufacturing maintenance technician to support the Franklin, IN plant. The Maintenance Technician/Operator will perform troubleshooting, diagnosing, repairing and maintaining machinery, building, and mechanical equipment for our metal-forming manufacturing facility.
Essential Position Functions
- Diagnose electrical or mechanical malfunctions in operational equipment and perform preventative and corrective maintenance. This involves starting devices to test performance, observing mechanical devices in operation, listening for trouble, dismantling equipment to access defective parts, adjusting functional parts, and repairing or replacing faulty components. May also install special functional or structural parts as needed.
- Lubricate, clean, repair, and maintain equipment according to diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, and manufacturer specifications. Use hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring and testing instruments.
- Inspect parts for imperfections by examining form and texture. Use rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring tools to determine changes in dimensional requirements of used parts.
- May operate lathes, drill presses, grinders, and other metalworking tools to create or repair parts as needed.
- Apply basic electrical knowledge to test and troubleshoot electrical equipment, including motor control devices, switch panels, transformers, solenoids, and other components, using engineering data and electrical principles.
- Complete training on both new and existing equipment and reference applicable materials. When directed by a supervisor, use specialized reference materials for more complex tasks.
- Assist machine operators with machine setup, and support tasks like stacking, marking, packing, and transporting finished workpieces.
- Help operate and activate machinery, ensuring accuracy and adequate production levels
- Maintain cleanliness of work area throughout shift and at the end of the shift.
- Maintain all safety standards.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required. Two-year technical degree or vocational training in industrial maintenance preferred.
- Two or more years’ related experience in industrial maintenance roles in a manufacturing environment.
- Strongly prefer experience with metal forming equipment, specifically roll forming.
- Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose and repair industrial equipment.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs frequently; 50 lbs occasionally.
Schedule: Typical schedule will be Monday to Friday 6AM-2:30PM or 8AM to 4:30pm. Machines run from 7AM to 3:30PM, so employee would need to either work one hour before or one hour after machinery runs to perform maintenance on machines.
Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is frequently required to walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment: While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
