Job Summary
The Quality Engineer (2nd shift) is responsible for driving continuous improvement in product quality, reducing the cost of poor quality, and enhancing customer satisfaction. This role leads root cause analysis, corrective action implementation, and quality system compliance to ensure products meet all internal, customer, and regulatory requirements.Job Responsibilities
- Improve, monitor, and maintain customer quality performance ratings.
- Collect, analyze, and interpret performance and defect data to drive root cause corrective actions (RCCA) and reduce cost of poor quality.
- Serve as the primary customer interface for quality-related inquiries, issues, and escalations.
- Lead structured root cause analysis and problem resolution activities across manufacturing cells.
- Drive timely and effective corrective action responses for both internal findings and customer-initiated corrective actions.
- Conduct process, product, and system audits to ensure compliance with AS/ISO standards and internal procedures.
- Evaluate and disposition nonconforming product; verify closure and effectiveness of corrective actions.
- Perform AS9102 First Article Inspections and present results to customer representatives as required.
- Facilitate product delivery activities with customer and government oversight agencies.
- Prepare and report daily, weekly, and monthly quality metrics.
- Track corrective actions and improvement initiatives through full implementation and control phases.
- Ability to work weekends as needed to support production and customer demand.
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field required.
- 0–1 years of professional quality experience in aerospace manufacturing (or 2+ years of Quality Engineering experience in manufacturing in lieu of degree).
- 0–1 year of experience with AS/ISO quality standards in a manufacturing environment.
- Must be able to perform work subject to ITAR/EAR regulations and/or program requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
- Quality accreditation or certification (e.g., CQE, CQA).
- Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel; experience with Minitab preferred.
- Working knowledge of AS9100 quality systems, inspection processes, FAI, and PRB/MRB activities.
- Lean, continuous improvement, or Six Sigma experience or certification.
Compensation Data
Annual Salary: $85,000.00 – $104,000.00
