The Boeing Company is looking for a Senior Manager Boeing Software Factory Integration (Virtual) to join the Boeing Software Factory (BSF) group/team located in Long Beach, CA. This position will focus on supporting the Engineering, Test and Technology (ET&T) business organization.
This position will be responsible for bringing focus and help to programs transition to the Boeing Software Factory (BSF). In this role, the leader will focus on heritage code bases and transition them into Boeing Software Factory (BSF) program by program. The Senior Manager Boeing Software Factory Integration will lead team to transform build systems from various solutions into Bazel and drive toward our SW Eng priorities for near and long term.
Position Responsibilities:
- Manages employees and first-level managers performing engineering and technical activities in the area of Software Engineering
- Develops and executes integrated departmental plans, policies and procedures and provides input on departmental business and technical strategies, goals, objectives
- Acquires resources for department activities, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements
- Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports
- Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes
- Manages, develops and motivates employees and first-level managers
- Own the standup of CI/CD pipeline to generate products out of heritage solutions
- Generate Build products based on target needs (differing RTOSs)
- Roll out necessary custom tooling necessary for the target programs (legacy compilers, licenses, etc)
- Containerize builds to support move into CI Runners
- Tie into the generation of metrics for complete look at SW health at Boeing
- Transition to program ownership following a successful move into Boeing Software Factory (BSF)
This position has been identified as a virtual opportunity and will not require the selected candidate to relocate.
Security Clearance and Export Control Requirements:
This position requires the ability to obtain a Secret US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. Ability to obtain Secret US Security clearance (Post-Start).
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):
- Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or other technical degree
- 6+ years software engineering experience
- 2 + years technical leadership experience
- 2+ years of C/C++ experience
- 2+ years of Python experience
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- Bazel (or hermitic build) experience
- CI/CD pipeline product development experience
- Real Time Operating Systems RTOS (VxWorks, DEOS, GreenHills, LynxOS)
