Chief of Staff/ Senior Business Advisor

Responsible for the coordination and the oversight of strategic initiatives under the direction of a President or Chief. Rely on extensive experience, innovation and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Lead special projects/programs and advise company leadership up to executives on various LOB/division related matters. Mentor and/or coordinate activities of staff as necessary.

Plan and direct all administrative and operational activities for the organization's President or Chief

Serve as the liaison between top management and stakeholders to ensure successful implementation of organizational objectives

Coordinate with internal and external resources to prioritize and develop solutions for their areas; this includes development of LOB/division projects and/or programs that meet organizational goals and requirements while suggesting improvements toward innovation, quality, effectiveness and efficiency

Provide Board of Director support for LOB/Division as assigned

Monitor high-priority initiatives and identify obstacles or potential blocks to success within LOB/Division and identify cross LOB impacts

Ensure communication and alignment within LOB/Division leadership team by communicating initiative/project status and bring in others as needed to stay on course

Provide decision support through data gathering and analysis as needed

Organize and prioritize critical issues and required information for the executive to organize meetings and to facilitate efficient decision making

Prioritize and assess requests/inquiries to President/Chief and determine the proper course of action

Building and maintaining relationships across enterprise, shared service, and business unit leaders to facilitate and own strategic initiatives including change initiatives and special projects with a strong bias for action.

Responsible for aggregating, reviewing with key leaders and driving alignment of financial and operational metrics & insights for the organization. Provides action-oriented insights and serves as a proxy to the President/Chief to drive execution on both business unit and enterprise objectives.

Responsible for building through collaboration and establishing operating rhythms with key leaders & Enterprise strategy teams across deliverables including Board materials, business plan updates & other State of the Business required materials

Job Specifications

Typically has the following skills or abilities:

Bachelor’s degree in Business or related functional area; or equivalent experience Eight years of demonstrated corporate functional experience demonstrating competency in several functional areas including championing, influencing and implementing enterprise-wide projects with five years working with senior management

Excellent creative analytical and problem - solving skills for complex problems

Flexible and able to quickly and effectively change priorities and direction

Travel may be required domestic and international

Proven ability to navigate complex situations through organizational landscape and with multiple stakeholders

Ability to drive results through informal authority, serves as a consultant to key business partners, and represents users and customers in every thought and interaction

Proven ability to successfully manage risks/issues at a program level

Demonstrates ability to be a decision-maker showing balanced consideration of business issues and determining and effectively managing constituents

Excellent written and verbal communication skills and analytical skills

Strategic skills to support envisioning work, program planning and strategic partnerships

Ability to regularly exercises discretion and independent judgment the in performance of his/her job duties. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.

Demonstrated ability as a forerunner and coordinator in best practice improvements

Remain current in field; demonstrate motivation, creativity, and expert knowledge by initiating and driving the formation of new innovative ideas/programs

Strong willingness to learn, share knowledge with other team members, accept responsibility, and handle multiple tasks concurrently
