POSITION SUMMARY:
The Software Product Manager is responsible for the vision and execution of the company product line. They must work closely with various department teams to make appropriate business decisions and create product strategies that ensure the company’s long-term sustainability. In the execution of these strategies the Software Product Manager works with our various departments, to ensure corporate goals are met timely and on budget. They will work with the Technology, Sales, and Client Services teams to build and enhance products from existing ideas and help develop new concepts, based on industry research and the needs of customers and prospects. The Software Product Manager must possess a unique blend of business and technical savvy, a big-picture vision and the drive to make that vision a reality. They are required to conduct market research, including working in the field to understand our target audience needs and to find innovative solutions for existing and new market segments. This position is a member of the Software Engineering team and is responsible for leading the development of our products, by managing our task management software system.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Managing the product line life cycle from strategic planning to tactical activities.
- Develop, prepare and maintain the product roadmap, which defines product enhancements for short- and long-term releases.
- Developing and implementing a companywide, go to market plan, overseeing interdepartmental activities to execute the plans.
- Analyzing potential partner relationships for the products.
- Define a feature roadmap for products based on business opportunities and market research.
- Work with the Sales Management and other members of the leadership team to evaluate and prioritize opportunities and develop strategy.
- Become a subject matter expert in the various product markets and provide vision and leadership, to technology research and development efforts.
- Responsible for product launch and release plans. Coordinates internal and external product launches working with Marketing Support and training teams.
- Manage task management software.
- Facilitate SDLC meetings.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Business Management or specialized training/certification, or equivalent work experience.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Complete knowledge of SDLC.
- Experience with JIRA.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent analytical, quantitative, organizational, and prioritization skills
- Intense focus and ability to analyze complex scenarios, to derive simple solutions
- The ability to work under pressure and handle challenging situations
- Must be comfortable in facilitating small and large meetings.
- Demonstrate successful product launches, while maintaining excellent product lines.
- Advanced knowledge of web development platforms, databases and infrastructure.
