Apple Montessori Schools has an exciting opportunity for a Human Resources Coordinator!  As the HR Coordinator, you will play a key role by providing support to the HR department, school administration, and school staff across all functions of HR, including but not limited to, employee relations, benefit administration, policies/procedures, employee record-keeping, and talent management.  The HR Coordinator will also support Apple’s growth with new school openings by ensuring regulatory compliance and appropriate due diligence has been performed.

  • Provide excellent customer service by responding to all internal and external HR-related inquires and requests; demonstrate resourcefulness by seeking answers and solutions
  • Partner with school administration on employee relations matters, including staff management, navigating difficult conversations, performance-related questions and issues, coaching, documentation, and terminations
  • Liaise with Payroll and Benefits Administrator on benefit related tasks including leave administration, worker’s compensation, health & wellness plans, and open enrollment, often being the first point of contact
  • Review current employment policies and procedures to make necessary recommendations, caring for both unique school needs and regulatory compliance; update employee handbook and supporting documents on a cyclical basis ensuring all policies are up to date
  • Support new school growth by reviewing and complying with state-specific employment laws, registering with relevant agencies, updating employment forms/notices to reflect local requirements, verifying if any new benefits are needed based on state mandates, and conducting thorough research on local labor market conditions
  • Assist with the preparation of performance management materials, including forms, evaluations, and progress reports/tracking while making recommendations for enhancements
  • Conduct audits and follow up accordingly with employees and school administration on activities related to trainings, policy acknowledgment/signatures, and other employment-related tasks (ex. onboarding, open enrollment, background checks, attendance, timekeeping etc.)
  • Maintain and update employee records in HRIS, ensuring data and documents are entered correctly and in a timely fashion
  • Assist with external audits by responding to requests and gathering documentation
  • Prepare HR communications, including announcements, reminders, and partnering with Marketing on the Employee Newsletter
  • Generate ad hoc reports as requested
  • Assist with deck preparation
  • Additional projects as needed
  • Provide general administrative support and overall back-up for the department when coverage is needed


Requirements

  • 1-2 years of HR related experience required
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Desire to seek to understand with strong researching skills while being proactive and resourceful
  • Strong customer service and consultative skills with the ability to provide creative solutions; communicate effectively (verbal and written) while partnering cross-functionally
  • Process-driven with an eye for identifying pain points and opportunities to increase efficiencies
  • Strong follow-up and follow-through skills with heavy attention to detail

*Position is hybrid remote position and may require visits to the school locations weekly.
